when we talk to Muslim about “honor killing” they try to explain that as a
“cultural”issue that has nothing to do with “Islam”.Either they do not know , or they are lying(that under Taghiyeh and Kitman it is perfectly OK with Islam ).
In Quran (18:65-81) the theological groundwork for honor killings was laid , in which a family member is killed because they brought shame to the family (either through apostasy, blasphemy, or perceived moral indiscretion). The story (which is not found in any Jewish or Christian source as I checked with some Jewish and Christian friends) tells of Moses encountering a man with “special knowledge” who does things that apparently don’t make sense, but are then justified according to later explanation. One such action is to murder a youth for no apparent reason[ you can read story in Quran 18:74 فَانْطَلَقَا حَتَّىٰ إِذَا لَقِيَا غُلَامًا فَقَتَلَهُ قَالَ أَقَتَلْتَ نَفْسًا زَكِيَّةً بِغَيْرِ نَفْسٍ لَقَدْ جِئْتَ شَيْئًا نُكْرًا Muhammad Sarwar: They continued on their journey until they met a young boy whom he killed. Moses said, "How could you murder an innocent soul? This is certainly a horrible act”.] However, the wise man later explains that it was feared that the boy would “grieve” his parents by “disobedience and ingratitude.” He was killed so that Allah could provide them a ‘better’ son.[Q[Quran 18:80 وَأَمَّا الْغُلَامُ فَكَانَ أَبَوَاهُ مُؤْمِنَيْنِ فَخَشِينَا أَنْ يُرْهِقَهُمَا طُغْيَانًا وَكُفْرًا Muhammad Sarwar: "The young boy had very faithful parents. We were afraid that out of love for him they would lose their faith in God and commit rebellion (81)فَأَرَدْنَا أَنْ يُبْدِلَهُمَا رَبُّهُمَا خَيْرًا مِنْهُ زَكَاةً وَأَقْرَبَ رُحْمًا Muhammad Sarwar: so We decided that their Lord should replace him by a better and more virtuous son. ]his is one of the reasons why honor killing is not sanctioned by Sharia[ Re[ Reliance of the Traveler (‘Umdat al-Salik, o1.1-2) [ عمدة السالك وعدة الناسك ۲ ـ ۱ .۰۱ ]lim parent faces no legal penalty under Islamic law for murdering his child or grandchild: “…not subject to retaliation” is “a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring’s offspring.”
