Muhammad visited Umm Haram and she looked for lice in his head regularly:
=() al-Bukhari Book of Interpretations of Dreams #130
al-Bukhari 7001 7002
Sahih al-Bukhari Vol. 9, Book 87, Hadith 130
Narrated Anas bin Malik:Allah’s Apostle used to visit Um Haram bint Milhan ( أُمِّ حَرَامٍ بِنْتِ مِلْحَانَ )she was the wife of ‘Ubada bin As-Samit ( عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ). One day the Prophet visited her and she provided him with food and started looking for lice in his head. Then Allah’s Apostle slept and afterwards woke up smiling. Um Haram asked, “What makes you smile, O Allah’s Apostle?” He said, “Some of my followers were presented before me in my dream as fighters in Allah’s Cause, sailing in the middle of the seas like kings on the thrones or like kings sitting on their thrones.” (The narrator Ishaq is not sure as to which expression was correct). Um Haram added, ‘I said, “O Allah’s Apostle! Invoke Allah, to make me one of them;” So Allah’s Apostle invoked Allah for her and then laid his head down (and slept). Then he woke up smiling (again). (Um Haram added): I said, “What makes you smile, O Allah’s Apostle?” He said, “Some people of my followers were presented before me (in a dream) as fighters in Allah’s Cause.” He said the same as he had said before. I said, “O Allah’s Apostle! Invoke Allah to make me from them.” He said, “You are among the first ones.” Then Um Haram sailed over the sea during the Caliphate of Muawiya bin Abu Sufyan, and she fell down from her riding animal after coming ashore, and died.
-() Abu al-Qasim al-Tabarani( أبو القاسم الطبراني ) in his Al-Mujam al-Kabeer ( المعجم الكبيـر )relays an account by Umm Salama that she was picking lice from the head of the prophet when a woman named Zainab came to see her. Umm Salama stopped picking the lice as he lifted her head to talk to Zainab, but Muhammad angrily told her not to stop; she could talk to Zainab and pick his lice at the same time.
=() Ibn Jawzi ( أبو الفرج بن الجوزي )in Kashf al-Mushkil ( كشف المشكل )writes that the Prophet liked to take his afternoon nap in the house of Anas Ibn Malik’s aunt, and she would pick the lice off his head.
=()Abu Umar Ibn Abdel Barr ( أبو عمر بن عبد البر )in his book Tamhid ( التهميد )writes that Umm Haram ( أم حرام )relayed that the Prophet used to come to her house and fall asleep in her lap while she picked his lice.
=()Abu Dawood 3080
Abu Dawood Vol. 3, Book 20, Hadith 3074
Narrated Zaynab:
“…She was picking lice from the head of the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him)…”( …. أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَفْلِي رَأْسَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ….. )
=() Jalal al-Din al Sayuti ( جلال الدين السيوطي )in al-Durr al-Mansur ( الدر المنصور )writes that Akramah said that a woman named Khawlah came to the Prophet to complain about her husband while another woman was picking the lice from Muhammad’s head. As Khawlah began speaking Muhammad lifted his head distractedly towards the sky, causing the woman to exclaim, “Khawlah, can’t you stop talking? Don’t you see what you are doing to the Prophet?”
NOW HERE COMES SCIENTIFIC SIDE OF THE STORY MUHAMMAD GUIDANCE THAT HOW TO FIGHT THE LICE:

=() al-Bukhari Book of Expeditions #503
al-Bukhari 4190
Sahih al-Bukhari Vol. 5, Book 59, Hadith 503
Narrated Kab bin Ujra:
The Prophet came to me at the time of Al-Hudaibiya Pledge while lice were falling on my face. He said, “Are the lice of your head troubling you?” I said, “Yes.” He said, “Shave your head and fast for three days, or feed six poor persons, or slaughter a sheep as sacrifice.” (The sub-narrator, Aiyub said, “I do not know with which of these three options he started.”)

NOW HERE COMES OUR QUESTION: HOW SACRIFICING AN ANIMAL,OR FEEDING POOR WILL HELP FOR LICE PROBLEM? BY THE WAY WE DID NOT SEE ANY RECOMMENDATION TO TAKE A SHOWER MORE OFTEN !!
