This is story of a street thug who was thinking has right to insult , disrespect and dehumanize anybody just because he was told by an imaginary unseen friend in sky that he is the best.
Muslims always talk about the time when Muhammad was in Mecca the whole Meccans were against him and finally made him to move to Medina. But what they do not tell you is that why Meccans were against him. That was not the case that innocent man was prosecuted by public opinion just because he was preaching a new religion, actually he was doing more than preaching ! . As a matter of fact Pagans did not have any problem with Muhammad to preach his religion up to the moments that Muhammad started mocking and insulting them [The History of al-Tabari: Muhammad at Mecca, translated and annotated by W. Montgomery Watt and M. V. McDonald [State University of New York Press, Albany 1988], Volume VI, p. 93 and p. 95-98 ].
Pagans, jews.Christians and other groups in Mecca were living in harmony for centuries without any significant conflict until peaceful Muhammad showed up.As a matter of fact Muhammad had no tolerance with other groups ,his mission was eradication of other religions [ http://www.apartheidsharia.com/muhammads-mission-eradication-of-jews-and-christians-from-arabian-peninsula-2/?no_frame=1 ]he was a street thug who mocked , insulted and ridiculed Meccans ,their beliefs, their ancesstors,their intellect,their gods,their values ,etc…and that was the reason why Meccans did not like him, that is the same attitude that these days we can see in many of his followers during arguments.
At first Meccans several times consulted with Muhammad on his crud talking and his arrogance [ (Ibn Kathir, The Life of the Prophet Muhammad (Al-Sira al-Nabawiyya), Volume I, pp. 347-348 – 367 ] but it did not work.
=() Yunus stated, from Ibn Ishaq, “Then Abu Bakr met the Messenger of God and asked him, ‘Is it true what the Quraysh are saying, Muhammad? About you abandoning our gods, ridiculing our intellects, and calling our ancestors pagans?’”The Messenger of God said, ‘Yes indeed. I am the Messenger of God, and His Prophet, He sent me to deliver his message and invite you to God by the truth. For I swear, God is the truth. I call upon you, O Abu Bakr, to believe in God alone, in Him who has no associate. And I call upon you to worship none but Him, and to devote yourself to obeying Him….” [ Ibn Kathir, The Life of the Prophet Muhammad (Al-Sira al-Nabawiyya), translated by professor Trevor Le Gassick, reviewed by Dr. Ahmed Fareed (Garnet Publishing Limited, 8 Southern Court, south Street Reading RG1 4QS, UK; The Center for Muslim Contribution to Civilization: First paperback edition, 2000) , Volume I, p. 314 ].
=()”Yunus b. Bukayr stated that Muhammad b. Ishaq related to him, quoting a man originally from Egypt some forty years previously, from ‘Ikrima, from Ibn ‘Abbas, a long anecdote relating what transpired between the polytheists of Mecca and the Messenger of God. When the Messenger of God arose, Abu Jahl b. Hisham said, “O Quraysh, Muhammad is persisting, as you know, in criticizing our religion, reviling our forefathers, ridiculing our values and insulting our gods. I swear by God that I’ll sit and wait for him tomorrow carrying a rock, and if he prostrates in his prayer, I will smash his head with it! And let ‘Abd Manaf’s people do whatever they like about it afterwards.” [ Ibn Kathir, The Life of the Prophet Muhammad (Al-Sira al-Nabawiyya), p. 337 ].
This hostility continued for a while and got worse .Meccans decided to talk to Abu Talib , the respected member of Muhammad’s family , may be he could stop Muhammad from insulting them:
=() “They said, ‘O Abu Talib, your nephew has cursed our gods, ridiculed our values and said our forefathers erred. Either you interpose yourself between us – you disagree with him just as we do – or we’ll take care of him for you!’
“Abu Talib gave them a polite and gracious reply and they then left him.
“There after the Messenger of God continued as before ………….“Quraysh discussed the Messenger of God a great deal, complaining to one another and urging one another on to take action against him.
“They then went AGAIN to Abu Talib, and told him, ‘O Abu Talib, you have seniority, prestige, and position among us, and we have asked you to keep your nephew away from us, but you have not done so. We can’t any longer put up with his behaviour in reviling our forefathers, ridiculing our values, and criticizing our gods, until such time as you make him desist, or we will battle with him and you in this matter, until one or other side perishes.’ They then said something of this sort, and then they left.
“It grieved Abu Talib to be alienated from his people, and he was neither sympathetic to the call for Islam by the Messenger of God nor to the idea of abandoning him.” [ Ibn Kathir, The Life of the Prophet Muhammad (Al-Sira al-Nabawiyya), p. 344 ].
Apparently none of those measures worked and Muhammad as before continued insulting and disrespecting people of Mecca,the next step was that Meccans came to Abu Talib with this offer: “we give you a young,strong, the most good looking man from Quraysh you hand over to us Muhammad we take care of him”:
=()“When Quraysh learned Abu Talib had refused to abandon the Messenger of God and was determined to break with them in enmity because of this, they went to him, bringing ‘Umara b. al-Walid with them. They told him, as I have heard, ‘O Abu Talib, this is ‘Umara b. al-Walid, the strongest and best-looking young man of Quraysh. Take him and use his mind and strength and adopt him as your own son; he is yours. And hand over to us this nephew of yours who has opposed your religion and that of your forefathers, broken up the unity of your people, and ridiculed our values, so that we may kill him. It will be just one man for another!’” [ Ibn Kathir, The Life of the Prophet Muhammad (Al-Sira al-Nabawiyya), p. 345 ]
=() “Nu‘aym b. ‘Abd Allah met him and enquired, ‘Where are you heading, ‘Umar?’
“He replied, ‘I’m looking for Muhammad, that Sabian who has disunited Quraysh, ridiculed their dreams, criticized their religion and slandered their gods. I’m going to kill him!’” [ Ibn Kathir, The Life of the Prophet Muhammad (Al-Sira al-Nabawiyya), Volume II, p. 21]
AND THAT WAS UNDER THIS CONDITION THAT FIRST EMIGRATION HAPPENED ,Ibn Kathir explains it this way:
“The Companions of the Messenger of God, thereupon left for Abyssinnia fearing the unrest and fleeing with their faith unto God. This was the first emigration that occurred in Islam …” [Ibn Kathir, The Life of the Prophet Muhammad (Al-Sira al-Nabawiyya), Volume II, p. 1].
After emigration still insult ,thugish language and crude talking continued in Medina .Here are some samples from the way that Muhammad was talking to Meccans about them, their gods , and their values:
=() Quran 2 :170 ” وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّبِعُوا مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ قَالُوا بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَا أَلْفَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَنَا ۗ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ آبَاؤُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ “Muhammad Sarwar: When some people are asked to follow the revelations of God, they say, “We would rather follow what our fathers have followed,” even though their fathers had no understanding and could not find the true guidance.
=()Quran 2:171″وَمَثَلُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا كَمَثَلِ الَّذِي يَنْعِقُ بِمَا لَا يَسْمَعُ إِلَّا دُعَاءً وَنِدَاءً ۚ صُمٌّ بُكْمٌ عُمْيٌ فَهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ ” Yusuf Ali: The parable of those who reject Faith is as if one were to shout Like a goat-herd, to things that listen to nothing but calls and cries: Deaf, dumb, and blind, they are void of wisdom.
=() Quran 5:104 ” وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا إِلَىٰ مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ وَإِلَى الرَّسُولِ قَالُوا حَسْبُنَا مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَنَا ۚ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ آبَاؤُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ “Pickthall: And when it is said unto them: Come unto that which Allah hath revealed and unto the messenger, they say: Enough for us is that wherein we found our fathers. What! Even though their fathers had no knowledge whatsoever, and no guidance?
=() Quran 4:116 ” إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَنْ يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ ۚ وَمَنْ يُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَالًا بَعِيدًا “Muhammad Sarwar: God will not forgive the sin of considering something equal to Him, but He may forgive the other sins of whomever He wants. One who considers anything equal to God has certainly gone far away from the right path.(117)” إِنْ يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِهِ إِلَّا إِنَاثًا وَإِنْ يَدْعُونَ إِلَّا شَيْطَانًا مَرِيدًا “They (the pagans) only worship idols and Satan, the persistent rebel.
you can find many insult and disrespect in 7:191>>203 , 10:18 , 25:2>>6, 23:84>>90 and and many other verses ,direct or indirect. Muhammad permanently promised non believers to the fire of hell and etc…
Muhammad not only insulted pagans , he also got to the monotheists as well . Through the whole Quran we see countless verses that insult and dehumanized people of other monotheist religions, [Here is very small sample of this disrespect and insult , he called Christians and Jews deluded ,and ask Allah to destroy them Quran (9:30) /he said Allah cursed them( 2:88)and will efface faces (by making them like the back of necks; without nose, mouth, eyes, etc.(4:47 Muhsin Khan)/Allah called them :spider(29:41),greediest(2:96), they drew on themselves the Wrath of Allah(2:61),rebel against Allah(2:99),diseased(2:10), apes and swines (5:59,60/2:65,66),evil (5:59),losers(5:53),cattle(7:179),liars (16:39),worst beasts (8:55),lowest creatures (58.20),worst of the creatures (98:6),deaf dumb,blind (2:171),lazy dog (7:176),dirty,filthy like urine, feces, pigs,etc….(9:28), earn Allah’s anger(1:6 ,7)ill-mannered, and morally corrupt(68:13),etc… ].
Muhammad even claimed that Allah does not love non believers[ Quran 3:31/22:38/ 30:45 ] .
Meanwhile Muhammad’s arrogance and bad mouthing continued.In Quran 22:15 Muhammad told people that if they thought Allah would not help (support) him they can go hang themselves [ http://corpus.quran.com/translation.jsp?chapter=22&verse=15 ] ,And that was the best answer that perfect man had for people.
At the end this bad mouthing and using vulgarity with opponents was common style of reasoning among early Muslims and it got to new level.Just look at the answer that Abu Bakr (selected caliphate by Muhammad)had for one of the people who asked a question:
=() “… Then ‘Urwah said: ‘Muhammad, tell me: if you extirpate your tribesmen, have you ever heard of any of the Arabs who destroyed his own race before you? And if the contrary comes to pass, by God I see both prominent people and rabble who are likely to flee and leave you.’ Abu Bakr said, ‘go suck clitoris of al – Lat !’– al-Lat was the idol of Thaqif, which they used to worship – ‘Would we flee and leave him…’” [The History of al-Tabari – The Victory of Islam, translated by Michael Fishbein (State University of New York Press (SUNY), Albany 1997), Volume VIII (8), p. 76] [ https://kalamullah.com/Books/The%20History%20Of%20Tabari/Tabari_Volume_08.pdf ]

it is necessary to mention that al-Lat was a pre-Islamic Semitic goddess of second millennium BCE. She is mentioned in the Quran and traditionally is one of Allah’s “daughters,” reflecting her pre-Islamic status as a goddess. This derogation of “sucking her clit” is an attack on her followers.
=() Here is another example of Muhammad’s respond to one of the followers in “Mukhtasar Zad al-Ma’ad” ( مختصر زاد المعاد في هدي خير العباد ) by Imam Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah ( الجوزية الإمام ابن القيم ) :
When a person made the claims of tribal superiority befor Islam, Muhammad responded “Bite your father’s penis!”And for every situation there is a (fitting) saying. [ Provisions for the Hereafter (Mukhtasar Zad Al-Ma’ad), by Imam Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah, summarized by Imam Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab At-Tamimi ( Darussalam Publishers & Distributors, First Edition: September 2003) , Chapter. Regarding the Story of Al-Hudaibiyyah, p. 383]
=() this has also been mentioned in Mishkat al-Masabih (مشكاة المصابيح):
“Ubayy b. Ka‘b told that he heard God’s messenger say, ‘If anyone proudly asserts his descent in the manner of the pre-Islamic people, tell him to bite his father’s penis,and do not use a euphemism .’ It is transmitted in Sharh as-sunna.” [ Mishkat Al Masabih, English Translation With Explanatory Notes By Dr. James Robson (Sh. THEN NEXT TIME IN ARGUMENT IF YOU ARE INSULTED BY MUSLIMS DO NOT FEEL BAD THEY ARE FOLLOWING THE SUNNAH OF THEIR ROLE MODEL.
